Hey Folks,
I hope everyone that gets the email below realizes that it's a scam. Don't contact this person. He wants to steal your money. The scam works like this; they offer to send you a check for lessons in advance, plus the anticipated living and incidental expenses for the kid(s). You are supposed to cash the check, keep your lesson fee, and give the change to a custodian for the kids. Only problem is, the custodian picks up the change, possibly thousands of dollars, then the check bounces against your bank account. I hope this causes no inconvenience to anyone, and I'm sorry if you are contacted with this scam by someone that locates you through my website. I receive some version of this at least once a week, often several times. Look for it in many forms. Anytime someone contacts you for lessons, ask that person to pay you at the time of the lesson. Keep in mind also that it is very unlikely that someone will be coming to stay from overseas just to take beginning private lessons from a music instructor they found on a website. Best Wishes, Randy Hunter
